Folk Variations

"Folk Variations" was composed in 2013 for my friend Adam Golka and is based on the popular folk song "Yankee Doodle." The work features a theme and six variations that are linked together and played without pause. The theme of my piece does not feature the familiar folk tune but rather uses its pitches rearranged and stacked vertically to create a more modern "American" sonority."
